Master of Reality

The past two years has seen a monumental shift in our lives, but I don’t need to tell you that. The defines of what is or isn’t important to us has been challenged over that period time and time again it seems. For me that challenge has been time itself. It appears a fickle concept; something with which we deal at every moment, yet struggle to grasp.

As a creative the want to to create but with little opportunity to do so was difficult to accept over this period. Society moves so quickly and we scramble to keep up that we seldom pause to look back, but once I did I was questioning if it even mattered anymore. Why do we exert so much effort doing what we do? Or was this just the tiredness from an overbearing reality talking.

In an attempt to reignite some creative energy I made a small change to my gearset and also to my mindset to refocus on the simple pleasure of being in the moment with the photographic process. That is what fulfils me the most in doing all of this. I had shot the same cars at the same time at the same Duck & Whale Car Meet last year, and so with a refreshed perspective in this new year I headed out into the early morning to begin again.
